My son purchased this bike new from a Trek dealer in Boise, ID in 2021 for close to $4K and has ridden it very conservatively only about 20 times. I am not a bike expert, but I would consider the bike to be in excellent condition. I would say it is like new except for a few scuffs at the top of the down tube (I suspect from rubbing on a bike rack.) It has not been involved in any accidents or falls and has always been stored indoors. My son just moved out of state and was not able to take the bike with him so he asked me to try to sell it for him. I will do my best to answer any questions and I can provide additional photos as needed.
Below are the specifications that I pulled off the internet. I won't pretend to understand what all of them mean, but I suspect anyone interested in this type of bike will understand the details.
OVERVIEW
SRAM 12-speed components, a tough aluminium frame and FOX shock unit help make the Trek Fuel EX 8 GX Mountain Bike perfect for trail riding of any kind. With 140mm of travel from the Rhythm 34 fork and 130mm from the Performance Float EVOL rear shock, traction is superb whilst larger hits are equally well dealt with and by flipping the Mino Link over the angles can be slackened for greater stability at speed. The 10-52 tooth 12-speed cassette has the largest range available, ensuring that the right ratio is always at hand and the 4-piston G2 R hydraulic disc brakes give great control when the time comes to head downhill. Confidence is also boosted by the inclusion of the Bontrager Line Dropper seatpost which allows the saddle to be quickly dropped out of the way for greater manoeuvrability when required. Wide Bontrager Line Comp 30 wheels provide good support for the XR4 Team Issue tyres, and by using 27.5” wheels on the smaller sized bikes and 29” on the larger sizes handling has been kept consistent for all riders. As both wheelset and tyres are tubeless-ready, the conversion is simple, allowing for lower pressures and improved grip without the risk of pinch punctures.
