This 2001 Chevy Express 3500 Super Extended Cargo Van was purchased new by Oroville County and used for inmate transport between the courts and jail. Before being retired and replaced with a newer model about two months ago, the agency removed all transport cages.
The van is powered by the highly desirable 8.1L V8 engine and has only 127,000 original miles. It runs and drives exceptionally well — the transmission shifts smoothly, and the engine performs flawlessly.
Both the interior and exterior are in excellent condition for a 24-year-old utility vehicle. The van has been well-maintained and is mechanically sound with no issues. A/C blows cold, all lights, radio, and cruise control function properly, Heavy-duty rear and side steps installed, inside the cargo area covered with metal sheets, and it's perfect for contractors or haulers carrying heavy material without damaging the body. Tires are very good all around. There is a dent in the front bumper.
