I've been doing sound work for churches for the past several decades. I was a recording engineer for over 10 years and ran many live shows at various venues and even constructed two recording studios from scratch.
One sad fact that I have discovered over the years is that many churches do not have professional sound enginEARS so you mostly find faithful volunteers with great hearts who give it their best shot. I have many funny(and by "funny", I mean sad) stories of sound problems that I have heard at so many churches, from the not-so-good to downright terrible sound, or blown out speakers and broken equipment that they weren't even aware of, or inappropriate EQ and compression on instruments and voices(it's hard to listen to a pastor when he sounds like an AM radio that's underwater), etc. etc. etc.
If your church needs help with anything audio related, please message me and I'd be happy to visit your sanctuary and give you a FREE CONSULTATION. Together we can determine what changes would make the most bang-for-the-buck differences and I will give you options for good-better-best sound improvements. I usually buy good used equipment so the cost to upgrade (if any) will be minimal compared to the huge sound gains that you will get. Most times, simple changes to the existing mixer have made a dramatic difference in the overall sound and that required no additional equipment at all. In short, it might cost nothing to your church and you could have a huge impact to your services and worship atmosphere just by me turning a few knobs on your existing equipment!
Please contact me if you need:
- FREE consultation of your current sanctuary sound
- Adjustment of your mixer settings (this might be all you need)
- Diagnostic of your existing equipment to see if anything is broken or problematic
- Low cost upgrades with good, better, best recommendations
(Did you know that in small sanctuaries, using in ear monitors instead of floor monitors makes a huge difference?)
(And if you don't have any subwoofers, you'll be shocked if you even add just one into your room.)
- Training for your volunteers to turn them into voluntEARS!
- Anything else you can think of? Please inquire.
You will be completely surprised and wonder how it was that you lived with that old sound for that long once you hear the difference! So please let me know if I can be of any assistance to the Audio or Tech team at your church. :)
