Position Summary
We’re seeking a skilled Surface Prep / Industrial Machinery Technician to perform machine diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and on‑site service. The role includes shop work, equipment rebuilds, loading/unloading gear, and occasional deliveries or pickups.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain floor grinders, polishers, ride‑on scrapers, generators, vacuums and related equipment
Perform routine maintenance, belt/brush/part replacement, rebuilds, and safety checks
Test equipment after repair and document service history and parts used
Perform on‑site service calls and emergency same‑day repairs as needed
Prepare and inspect rental units between uses; ensure machines are clean, safe, and ready to rent
Maintain accurate work orders, time logs, and parts inventory records
Assist with loading/unloading and safe transport of equipment (use of dollies, ramps; occasional heavy lifting up to 75 lbs)
Communicate clearly with dispatch/customers on repair status and time estimates
Follow shop safety procedures and keep work area organized
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years mechanical/electrical repair experience (industrial equipment, small engines, power tools, or similar)
Solid mechanical aptitude: comfortable with gas engines, electric motors, belts, bearings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and basic welding/fabrication (preferred)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (able to drive company vehicle for pickups/deliveries)
Able to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly and perform physical work (kneeling, bending, climbing)
Good written and verbal communication skills; basic computer skills for work orders
Reliable, punctual, and customer‑service oriented
Preferred
Experience working on concrete/grinding/polishing machines (Lavina, Husqvarna, HTC, EDCO, etc.)
Small engine repair certification or HVAC/electrical background
Experience with parts inventory systems
Overtime pay for extended hours
Typical hours: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
