The Lords of Dust are a Heavy Metal/Rock band from Southern California.
We are a working, DIY, actively gigging, actively recording, BAND, with well over 50 live performances with our current line up. As musicians, collectively we have over 200 shows of live experience, with acts like Fu Manchu, Metal School, Matt Pike, the Well etc. This is a turn key situation, open for any local DRUMMER to audition and play our music, at a professional level. This is a NON PAID, “Band to Join”, when and if the band gets paid, you CAN be paid.
Hittin hard, keeping accurate tempo, and aggressive live energy are a must.
We have, three dedicated band mates, BASS, GUITAR, and VOX, that are easy to get along with, all contribute to the song writing process, booking shows, recording costs, studio rent, and transportation. Our bass player is professional luthier, guitar tech, and certified Plek operator, with a ton of experience playing live, recording, and rocking harder than any Lord in the band. Our Singer has been a professional vocalist for 25 years, recorded 4 full length albums, writes 99 percent of all lyrics, and 95% of all vocal melodies. Our guitar player has been playing guitar since he was 10 years old, recorded two full length albums, written countless riffs, and has never said no to show.
WE ALL LOVE THE SWEET LEAF, but prefer no drugs, no egos, and no drama.
We have, a HUGE lockout, with 24 hr access of unshared space. We’ve rented the same space, for the hang, writing, rehearsal, and pre-production for 8 years, we love it, it’s our home, and we are not leaving. We are looking for a DRUMMER with the means for an even, 4 way, rent split.
We all have, top tier equipment. Gibson guitars, Fender Basses, Orange Amplifiers, Sunn amps, Soldano amps, Sure Sm7b for recordings. We do have basic preproduction recording equipment, and are building our case of recording mics. We are also currently building our own drum set for auditions. We’re looking for a good drummer, who likes to spend good money, on good drums.
We have, a FULL LENGTH ALBUM, ready for release, recorded, mixed and mastered, that must be learned, and performed. The Album “Lords Never Die” has label interest from 3 different independent labels with means of reproducing our music into physical copies. (YES VINYL)
We have, distributed music, across all Internet based platforms, you can look up “Lords of Dust” on Spotify, Apple Music etc. YouTube (just search Lords of Dust) has two full production videos, one live, and one music video for the newest released single “CRAWLER” from the upcoming full length.
We have, A MUSIC PRODUCER. Owner operator of Buzz Bomb studios, Producer, recording engineer, and sound engineer, Paul Miner, look him up, he’s done ALOT.
We have, a sizable merch package, with prices set, and available for online, or in person purchases. Physical copies or our EP, t-shirts, stickers, buttons, merch designs, art, album cover ready for press and distro.
We had a Van, we’ve had two Vans, but have opted for pick up trucks for local show transport. We are looking at getting a new Van.
We are aware that our bio may come off as conceded, or ego driven, but we can assure you, we are not. We have put a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication into our band, and are very proud of the work.
Our previous (Original) drummer was amazing, we love him, and support his future music endeavors. Shouts out to Mike, he just needed to move on, we love you bro.
Unfortunately we have been on a live performance hiatus for about a year, due to TWO motorcycle accidents, AND recording our full length. WE LIVE THIS LIFE AND WE LOVE IT. Through all of the obstacles, COVID, accident injuries, surgeries, casts, arm slings, Van breakdowns, motorcycles on the side of the road etc etc, we’ve stayed tight and ready by keeping a strict rehearsal and recording schedule.
WE ARE NOT DONE ROCKING. We’ve been a band for approx 9 years, 7 with the current line up. If you you’ve been in bands for as long we have, you know the drill, we’re not trying to reinvent the wheel here. Our material is not easy to play, but we promise, it’s not that hard, YOU CAN DO IT.
