I work from home and I’m getting pretty fed up with trying to carve out space inside the house. I’ve been looking into the idea of building a small backyard office or even something ADU adjacent, but not sure how realistic that is in OC. For anyone who has actually done this, what did it cost you all in and how painful was the process with permits, contractors, etc? Also did it end up being worth it day to day or would you just do something simpler in hindsight? Trying to figure out if this is a smart move or a massive headache.
