I am publicly warning others about my experience with Helmuth von Bulow, who kept my 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo at his shop for over five years and failed to complete the work he was paid to perform.
Over the course of this time, he collected more than $18,000 from me for labor and parts. I later discovered that:
Much of the work was never performed
Multiple parts I was charged for were never actually ordered
Thousands of dollars in parts that were originally on my car are now missing
He refuses to return my missing parts
When I finally demanded my vehicle back, he dumped it outside his shop in extremely poor condition, along with loose parts, rather than returning it properly assembled or repaired.
I have since verified that Helmuth von Bulow is NOT licensed with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair, meaning he has been operating illegally. I also learned that he has an extensive criminal record and a history of:
Taking money up front
Failing to complete work
Not paying rent
Being evicted from shops
Then reopening under a different business name at a new location.
The shop address I posted above is his new address because he just got evicted (again) from his last address of:
2014 Placentia Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92627
Due to the missing parts, unperformed work, and additional damage caused while in his possession, the total losses now exceed the value of the car, effectively totaling my Lamborghini Gallardo.
