This is my male parakeet. I rescued him a few years ago. Recently his partner died, I plan to leave on August 10th and the people who were to watch him while I’m at college don’t want to get another bird for him. Rather then have him live alone for a few years I would like to make sure he goes to proper care. He eats Harrison’s pellets, fresh veggies, seeds and millet for treats. He will pick for seed and isn’t the best of eating his pellets always. He has lived in a large cage that never closes. They have a room they are free to fly and roam in and come out with me during the day. So if you plan to keep him in a small cage or one that is often closed it will not work out. He will come with all his stuff for free. I just need to verify that you have a proper set up beforehand.
