Starting Point Church is a new church plant located in Anaheim, California. We are seeking a Kingdom-minded worship leader that will provide direction and leadership for our weekly gatherings. We are seeking a contemporary worship leader – think Hillsong, Elevation, and Bethel. The ideal worship leader will collaborate with the pastor and oversee and coordinate all the details the weekly gathering encompasses, for example, recruiting praise and worship team, song selection, and the like. The worship leader must exercise creativity and innovation in developing worship experiences that attract people into the presence of God. Our demographics are 18 to 54, with a primary emphasis on young families. Our first prelaunch service is scheduled for December 7th, 2019 outreach/concert in the park, and our official launch service will be January 12th, 2020.
Lead singing voice and ability to lead and engage the congregation in worship using contemporary Christian music.
Experience in playing keyboard and/or guitar.
Experience in contemporary worship service as a member of the worship music team is preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage the worship congregation.
Likable and a team player.
Disciple maker and leader.
Serve as a positive role model in a Christian environment.
Ability to work with and develop varying ages and skill levels within a worship team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Being a member of the music worship team - vocal and/or instrumental.
Selecting songs for Sunday worship services, coordinating with the pastor as necessary, and communicating to the worship team.
Directing the praise team, including leading the group through all songs during worship service, conducting rehearsals, and coordinating musicians and singers for each week.
Recruiting new musicians and singers into the praise band as needed to carry out a vibrant, life-giving worship ministry.
Ability to lead the congregation verbally (including greetings, prayers, transitions, and singing) assisting people praise and connect with God authentically through worship.
Oversee the set-up and tear-down of sound equipment before and after rehearsals and Sunday morning service.
Preparing music in advance of rehearsals, keeping music organized, and continually seeking out new songs for the service.
Have a drive inside of yourself to want to get better.
Work with the visual leader to ensure that all Sunday morning elements are inserted into visual media as well as to provide/recommend items for the website and social media.
Lead and develop qualified alternative leaders to lead worship when needed. The leaders will be used in other churches we plant.
