PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD BEFORE REACHING OUT:
We are a 3 piece band (Vox, Bass, Drums) with 12 catchy tunes in our set. We've played a few shows at Doll Hut, Surf Dogs and Bobby V's with very positive receptions that they keep inviting us back. We're seeking a competent and physically energetic lead axe player who wants to rock with us and express themselves so we can get this band firing on all cylinders. We're not looking for an Yngwie Malmsteen or Jeff Loomis but if you can play the solos to Crionics by Slayer, we'll want to bring you in immediately. A little edge, spice and creativity would be great.
Our goals:
We are not a full-time band trying play out as much as possible and tour all over. We're here to have fun but do it well and make it worthwhile. We aim to expand to other venues around SoCal (willing to go beyond), play bigger shows (hopefully some fests) and make a good record or two that we can be proud of and people will genuinely enjoy.
We're in our early 40s to mid 50s and would prefer to find someone no younger than 24. We all get along. No egos here. We like straight shooters who can communicate and have no problem with constructive criticism, new suggestions and ideas. We have our own private rehearsal studio near the Honda Center. If this sounds interesting, hit us up and share some videos of what you've got and we'll do the same.
Main influences: Adolescents, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, The Damned, Supersuckers, Misfits, Sick of it All, DRI, Pixies, Kill Em All/Show No Mercy era Metallica and Slayer etc. etc.
We listen to a wide variety of music. Our drummer is into death/thrash/black/doom metal, film scores and dark synth. Our bassist loves bands like Failure, Type O Negative, Rush and Soundgarden but this band is punk rock.
We went by the name X-Offender but with the recent hiatus and revamp, we are currently thinking of a much better name. We have a rehearsal video and some scratch audio clips on our Bandmix page. Can't share the link here so just put "/x-offender" after Bandmix dot.com.
If you're still interested, and you pass our requirements so far, be prepared to send us a video clip or two of you playing. We want to see your lead and rhythm chops to hear what you're capable of technically and creatively. If you're gonna do a cover tune, at least write your own lead.
If we're interested in you, we will send a couple of tunes to learn and we'll have you join us for a jam audition. \m/
