This guitar was built around 2006, when Fender was interested in building higher quality acoustic guitars, using their
Ensenada Mexico facility.
Well known for their exceptional electric guitars, these acoustics were excellent instruments, highly underrated, they showed up on the market and then disappeared, apparently Fender wasn't seeing the profit margin they were looking for, and soon moved to overseas production for their acoustics.
the body is a OM size with a venetian cutaway, the rosette is abalone, as are the fingerboard markers.
Back and sides are Palo Escrito sometimes described as Mexican Rosewood, the binding is rosewood,
the top is Sitka Spruce, headstock overlay is also Palo Escrito, the neck is mahogany with a slight flame to it.
the fingerboard is Ebony as is the bridge, gold grover open back tuners
The fingerboard is 1-11/16" wide, string spacing at the bridge is 2-1/8"
there is a small chip in the finish on the lower bout, overall the guitar is in good condition, no cracks, or other structural issues, the neck is straight, has an adjustable truss rod
the guitar is equipped with a Fishman Ellipsde VT pickup system.
the instrument is very balanced from bass to treble, very clear projection.
the case is a newer arched top Fender case, nice snug fit.
