This is a custom made by yours truly. I have been building wood top drums for over 8 years, I am a wood worker and also have been playing hand drums for many years. The shell is a Kpanlogo which in Ghana is a type of drum similar to a conga and is traditionally built with a natural animal skin however my wood top version offers a very nice sound that is also less maintenance as it never needs to be tuned and can be played year round.

I use custom high quality Finland birch for the playing surface not found at your local hardware store. I then finish it with numerous coats of professional grade top coat polyurethane. The bottom has commercial grade high wearing neoprene rubber.
