The Mesa/Boogie Stiletto Ace 2 x 12" tube combo amplfier brims with a range of British tones that take you from clean chime to sustaining, fluid drive — and everywhere in-between! Plug into the Stiletto Ace and you get access to two feature-packed channels, each of which includes three modes for maximum tonal and dynamic control. The closed-back cabinet puts the beef and response of a big 4 x 12 cab into a very portable package, while a switchable rectifier lets you make the response of the amp tighter or looser. Though the venerable EL34 power tube is regarded more for its classic crunch than its clean capabilities, the Stiletto Ace puts it to work making rich, spacious clean tones you'll love. This amp produces a dimensional chime that lets you take advantage of your guitar's natural tonality and pickup selection.
Go from grainy to crunchy to smoldering
Mesa/Boogie knows the importance of those "in-between" tones — the grainy, gritty realm that joins pristine cleans and sustaining lead tones. That's why they gave the Stiletto Ace duplicate Crunch modes in both Channels 1 and 2. If you rarely play completely clean, this mid-gain mode gives your guitar tone a great place to be, allowing it to roam the wooly landscape from nearly clean to a punchy snarling break-up.
Channel 2 ventures into high gain realms no British amp ever dared. Tite Gain blisters with searing heat while maintaining articulate focus. Fluid Drive bumps the gain and liquefies the attack to inspire those single-note solo runs.
Dial in the amp response that suits you
This amp doesn't just stop with a huge array of tweakable tones, however. Mesa applied the same attention to detail to the amp's response and dynamics. A Switchable Rectifier feature allows you to tune the power supply for the feeling that best suits your style — tube for a vintage-inspired sag, or silicon diodes for tight tracking punch and authority.
Bold/Spongy Power located on the main AC power switch provides a reduced line voltage setting for additional power sag and enhanced top end harmonic content.
Its front panel location allows for on-the-fly selection of incoming line voltage with the full 117 volts for headroom and authority, or a reduced voltage setting (like a built-in Variac) for a vintage-inspired "brown" vibe.
