Insulation consists of 4 layers (front to back: white cotton fabric, 1.5 inches acoustic foam, Soundsulate™ 1/2 lb Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) made in USA, Polyester thermal blackout fabric). The mass loaded vinyl is the reason why these curtain actually work in reducing the noise, unlike anything else I've tried before. Cotton fabric and acoustic foam on the inside also works as a treatment for higher frequencies to dampen the sound inside the room. The blackout fabric reduces heat transfer into the room.
The size is 98 x 36 inches (each) and color is white.
I've used these to pretty much completely block out sound coming from either a large window or a front door (to record vocals, guitar amp) in rather noisy apartment complex between two highways. Since I'm moving out of state and they are way too heavy to ship, posting them here. The curtains have some yellow spots here and there, however not too visible and definitely not impacting the performance. I also have some additional Mass Loaded Vinyl as well as acoustic foam panels for sale as well.
