2005 Paul McGill handcrafted MKS 00 Acoustic Guitar in "near mint" condition. Paul McGill is an American luthier, specializing in classical, steel string as well as the originator of a unique type of resonator guitar based upon the Brazilian Del Vecchio designs of the 1930s. Here is some information about the guitar I recently received from Paul McGill. The top is German spruce that came from Gibson and was imported in 1970. It arrived in Nashville when the factory was moved there. The back and sides are cocobolo. The headstock and rosette material are burled box elder. Bindings are koa. It is a 41 style with purflings bordering the fretboard extension. MKS stands for Michiko Steel string. It is a frame design with removed load from the sound hole. It provides balance and better string energy without distortion. It will never require a neck set. The guitar has a very detailed intonation system and the intonation points were very precise. The nut is compensated as well. Those back strips were pieced into the channel. There are cuban mahogany strips on each side. Comes with hardshell case and price is $5K.
