Leo Fender and original Fender employee George Fullerton, started G&L, which was Leo Fender's last guitar company (G&L = George & Leo). Together, they made updates to existing Fender designs as well as created new offerings before they both passed away.
The LB-100 is G&L's revised version of the Fender Precision bass.
Slightly smaller body which is poplar sandwiched between front and back sections of ash. Wood grain is beautiful under a sunburst finish.
The robust USA bridge is counter-sunk into the body for increased sustain.
The split pickups are their USA alnico set that are slightly more articulate than traditional P basses.
Neck is maple with a dark rosewood fretboard. G&L kept the traditional P bass neck profile, which is attached with six bolts instead of 4.
The Tribute series for G&L is much like Fender's MIM versions compared to USA models. Only difference is, the Tribute series uses USA pickups and hardware. Outstanding build quality.
In late September, G&L closed it's doors so these beautiful instruments will be harder to come by, especially sunburst with a rosewood neck.
