Hammond C3 Tonewheel Organ with dolly frame and remote control winch for gigging on the road. Serial Number 85897 was produced in 1961.
This Hammond was used in a Deep Purple tribute band. The C3 is the same model that Jon Lord of Deep Purple used. The C3 has the identical tonewheel generator as the B3, but has a heavier cabinet instead of the legs. There are some dings, see pics. It takes a few flicks of the start switch to get the tonewheel to engage, but it always does.
All notes and functions work on the organ. The pedals were not the original that the organ came with. I purchased them after I purchased the organ. I added a 1/4" output box with a volume knob so it is easily added to any sound system. I ran it into a pedal and also into an interface using Mainstage to get various effects.
I replaced the old felt on the tonewheel generator years ago and at the same time repaired several broken solder joints at the tonewheel.
Included are the tonewheel locking bolts/sleeves for transport. This keeps the tonewheel from bouncing around during transport.
I intended to add reverb to the organ but never finished getting all the parts. Included are a reverb tank and hammond reverb knob, you'd still need to add a reverb preamp to have it all working.
The AO28 preamp was making a low noise when I had the percussion tube installed so I pulled the tube out of the preamp. I've lost it over the years.
The music stand is missing 1 hinge and the screws to mount it to the organ. It is NOT currently attached, just sitting there for the pic.
The Harbor Freight winch is include and is easily removable. It makes it real easy to get it up and down a ramp if you take it on the road. There are a couple of eyelets that make it easy to strap the opposite side of the cabinet during transport. It transfers the winching energy to the opposite/down side so you don't pull the cabinet apart.
The dolly is homemade and has held up well. The organ simply sits in the frame. For transport, I used straps around the entire organ top and side to keep it well attached to the frame and keep the organ frame tightly secured.
If the ad is up, the organ is still available for sale. There will be no response to any "is it still available?" questions.
