POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for monitoring the production processes to ensure that the products produced meet quality and company’s standards. In addition, the Quality Assurance Inspector will also inspect all in-process finished products.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following):

• Conduct inspections of in-process products and document inspection results such as capsule size, tablet/capsule weight, hardness, thickness, and friability.
• Measure products using calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
• Collect samples throughout the processes for testing, retention, and customer’s request (when applicable).
• Accept or reject in-process finished products by conducting an acceptable quality level (AQL).
• Place on hold any products and/or materials that fail to meet quality standards.
• Document and report non-conforming issues in a timely manner.
• Recommend the disposition of acceptance or rejection of all in-process products.
• Help with the investigation relating to quality events/non-conformances, customer complaints, CAPAs, and deviations.
• Perform allergen swabs when applicable and verify that the line clearance and ATP swabs were properly executed.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Train and guide new Quality Assurance Inspectors.
• Cross train and work in other areas as needed.
• Other job-related duties may be assigned by Quality Management.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily outlined in the Duties & Responsibilities.)

• Experience in Network-based system, Quality Management Systems Software (QMS) & QAD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to read document, such as standard operating procedures. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
