I work with new and accomplished athletes: triathletes, water polo players, competitive swimmers and with adult, teen and older kiddos who are beginner swimmers to improve performance, reach goals, build confidence in the aquatic environment and develop a life-long love of swimming! Hello!
I am a life-long competitive swimmer, achieving Top Ten, Masters' Nationals category in sprint-distance swimming. I have been engaged with swim coaching for thirty years for all ages. I particularly enjoy working with triathletes and other accomplished athletes and with adults who have found swimming to be a challenge for any number of reasons. My passionate goal is to support established and emerging athletes and to create new, life-long swimmers who feel confident and comfortable in the water!
AREAS of EXPERTISE:
As a coach, my areas of greatest strengths lie in connecting and communicating with my swimmers, both in overcoming anxiety in the aquatic environment and in imparting very specific, individually tailored stroke mechanics that carry them from non-swimmer status and slower-swimmer status to moving through the water as if they have been swimming their whole lives.
There is a beauty and intelligence to high-level swimming body mechanics, seen at the competitive level. That coordination and efficiency of movement, which imparts both confidence and safety in the water for my newer swimmers also significantly drops swim times for my triathletes. This skill set is what I am committed to creating with each one of my swimmers!
THE COURSE:
I offer a ten-hour, comprehensive, very individually tailored, one-on-one COURSE for my ADULT BEGINNERS that progresses through beginning breath work and all basic swimming safety skills to freestyle with rotation breathing and other strokes and aquatic skills. My swimmers gain exacting swimming proficiency which, builds confidence in the water while any residual anxiety they may carry from earlier aquatic experiences is accommodated. And they would tell you their sessions are fun and relaxing!
ESTABLISHED ATHLETES: The work I do with COMPETITIVE SWIMMERS, TRIATHLETES and WATER POLO PLAYERS is very focused on stroke technique which, increases efficiency of movement resulting in faster swim times. The proof is in the clock!

-Lifeguard Certified from age 16 through adulthood.
