My name is Maryna and I would like to introduce myself to all of you.
Being a concert pianist myself, I have always understood the importance of teacher's role while preparing the new generation of musicians. Simce I started playing piano, I have been tought all the principles of a Russian School of Piano playing, that is hugely influenced by Heinrich Neuhauz. In United States I studied my double degree I was exposed to a different Piano playing tradition - since then, I was extremely interested in the different approach that those two schools (Russian and American) had also the similarities they share. I have studied with a great and well known pianists such as Peter Serkin, Melvin Chen, Jeffrey Kahane, Matti Raekalio and Benjamin Hochman. Studying with each of them gave me the opportunity to observe a variety of teaching styles and philosophies.
Along my studies I have always worked with private students, so I had the possibility to learn and experience teaching right away. I have noticed that working with different age groups are completely different, nevertheless I have always treated every student unique and have always tried to be as flexible as I can be while helping them improve. While trying to find the best work style with every student of mine, I have learned how to incorporate a variety of different approaches into my teaching.
I am deeply passionate about teaching and I would be happy to help students with developing expressive playing, improving listening skills, learning music theory and different piano techniques, practicing skills at home and working on the personal goals based on students desire.
All levels and ages are welcome
