We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, efficient, and proactive legal assistant/legal secretary to join our growing real estate practice with a focus on Community Association/Common Interest Development Law. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys supporting attorneys through a wide variety of substantive and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, format, and maintain correspondence, pleadings, and litigation templates
• File various Court and County Recorder documents
• Conduct title searches, review property histories, and summarize findings
• Perform public records and database searches (county recorder documents, legal entity searches, court dockets, corporate records, etc.)
• Assist attorneys with daily workflow, case management, and client communication
• Organize and maintain digital case files, deadlines, and calendars
• Support the team with enforcement and contract matters typical in community association representation, including general counsel and litigation roles
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal (real estate or HOA/common interest development law preferred)
• Strong proficiency in legal document preparation and proofreading
• Familiarity with title records and public database research
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with attorneys and staff
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common legal practice software (with special emphasis on billing software and legal calendaring software).
