We are a boutique employment and personal injury law firm in California. We are seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience in handling all aspects of employment and personal injury litigation in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will handle an active caseload from intake through resolution working closely with senior attorneys on complex and high-value matters. The candidate should have experience drafting and editing pleadings, briefs and written discovery, preparing for and conducting depositions, and preparing for trial. Associate Attorney candidate must be in good standing with California State Bar.
Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, demand letters, and legal memoranda.
Conduct and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, and expert witnesses.
Propound and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
Attend hearings, status conferences, and mediations; appear in court as required.
Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, investigators, and experts to build compelling case narratives.
Maintain regular, clear communication with clients regarding case status and strategy.
Experience:
(Required) Minimum 2 years of civil litigation experience in employment and/or personal injury matters.
(Required) Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
(Required) Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and managing discovery.
Strong legal research and writing skills.
Familiarity with legal drafting and court procedures.
Proficiency in using legal research platforms.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
