We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Paralegal to assist with a growing caseload on a contract basis. This position is ideal for someone who can work independently, stay organized, and efficiently manage workers' compensation files from inception through resolution.
Responsibilities:
Manage workers' compensation case files from intake through settlement or trial.
Prepare and file legal documents with the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
Draft correspondence, pleadings, settlement documents, and discovery.
Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, defense counsel, medical providers, and opposing parties.
Request and organize medical records and billing.
Calendar deadlines, hearings, depositions, and medical evaluations.
Maintain accurate case notes and file organization.
Assist the attorney with hearing and trial preparation as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of California workers' compensation paralegal experience preferred.
Familiarity with WCAB procedures and California workers' compensation laws.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
Ability to prioritize multiple cases and meet deadlines.
