A growing boutique civil litigation firm is seeking a professional and detail-oriented paralegal or law clerk to join its expanding team. The practice concentrates on civil litigation matters, including personal injury, consumer protection, business litigation and lemon law claims. The ideal person will play a central role in managing cases from intake through resolution and will work closely with attorneys to ensure each matter progresses efficiently and effectively.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, case law, and procedural issues.
Draft, proofread, and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and correspondence.
File and serve documents through various court electronic filing systems.
Manage and maintain case calendars, including court appearances, deadlines, and key litigation events.
Coordinate directly with clients, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
Assist in the preparation of discovery requests, responses, and document production.
Organize and summarize depositions, medical records, and other evidentiary materials.
Support the preparation and filing of trial binders and pretrial documentation.
Ensure that case files and databases are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum hands-on experience as a civil litigation paralegal/law clerk.
Working knowledge of California civil procedure and court filing requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal case management software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a cohesive team.
JD, Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
