Job Description
Field staff will conduct on-street parking observations by walking assigned City block faces in urban and residential environments and recording counts of vehicles displaying physical parking permits.
Key Responsibilities
Walk approximately 170 on-street block faces within urban and residential neighborhoods
Record counts of vehicles with visible parking permits
Complete two observation periods per day:
Midday (around 12:00 PM)
Late night (around 12:00 AM)
Follow standardized data collection procedures and routes provided by DIXON
Communicate clearly with project staff and report any field issues
Schedule
2 total days of work:
1 weekday
1 weekend day
Dates will be scheduled in January based on staff availability
Each observation pass takes approximately 3–4 hours
Total daily field time: approximately 6–8 hours per day
Compensation
$275 per day
$550 total for the full assignment
Required Qualifications
Ability to walk for several hours at a time
Comfortable working late night hours
Strong attention to detail
Reliable and punctual
Smartphone capable of basic data entry and navigation
Preferred (Not Required)
Familiarity with working in urban and residential neighborhoods
Background or interest in planning, transportation, geography, or data collection
Prior field survey or observational work experience
