Job Responsibilities:
- Select and pull lumber orders according to customer specifications and order tickets
- Inspect lumber for quality, grade, and defects before loading
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Load and unload delivery trucks with lumber products
- Organize and maintain inventory in the lumber yard or warehouse
- Ensure all pulled orders are accurate and complete before shipment
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate effectively with warehouse supervisors, drivers, and team members
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed
- Report any damaged or defective materials to management
Requirements:
- Knowledge of NHLA Lumber Grading Rules
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 pounds) and perform physical labor throughout the day
- Basic math skills for counting and measuring lumber accurately
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Attention to detail to ensure order accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret order tickets and product specifications
- Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
- Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic
- Previous lumber yard experience preferred
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Commitment to workplace safety standards
