Absolutely stunning, one of a kind, antique rose cut diamond ring! I have been told by a few jewelers she is most definitely over 100 years old. Originally, she was a foil back, but they are so fragile, foil backs can be ruined if they get salt water on them, or even when doing dishes, so we had it changed to an open back and the setting reinforced from underneath so I didn’t have to worry about damaging it. Plus, foil backs look best in candle light, due too the time frame it was made, candle light was how people lit their houses, so now that it’s open back, it’s light play is much better in sun light and indoor lighting. (I have videos of its light play I can send you via text message) Its setting is 8k gold, which was more common back when this ring was made. Although it’s only a half carat diamond, the rose cut, or also known as a fisheye cut, being flat on the back, makes the stone look much larger, and gives it the appearance of being closer to a 1 carat stone. It also is adorned with accent diamonds down the sides. Its delicate filigree design is just so unique and timeless. As much as I love the ring, the relationship it came from has long ended, (the type of relationship I had to pay for my own “surprise engagement” ring 😅🥲) and I just don’t wear it anymore. I personally paid $1,499 for her, from a very reputable antique dealer on eBay, they have many original antique pieces, as well as some recreations, however this was one of the original pieces. The stone is also original to the ring and I have been told it was hand cut! Crazy! Price is NOT firm! Im open to reasonable offers and ready and willing to accommodate.
