RARE circa 1917 E. E. Knerr Gold Filled Pocket Watch. This antique American, railroad grade, pocket watch was made by E. E. Knerr in Shelby, Nebraska. It has a red, five-minute track, a seconds subdial, and bold Roman numerals. Beautiful damaskeening on the back of the movement and a solid bridge movement. Fusee verge case made by Philidelphia Watch Case Co.. 17 jewels, 18s, heavy gold filled, open face pocket watch. The movement's serial number is 485404. The dial reads E. E. Knerr. The case's serial number is shown in the photos. The gold case is marked "Philidelphia Watch Case Co., "Guaranteed Twenty Years", and has a crown hallmark. The movement is marked "E. E. Knerr, Shelby, Neb.", and "17 Jewels". This pocket watch case has beautiful engraving detail, including flowers, scallops, and intricate filigree engraved throughout the case. It is a notably beautiful case with superb, crisp engraving all over the case. The cartouche is blank, allowing you to add your own initials. The movement is running at time of evaluation without detailed testing; future state not guaranteed. The cosmetic condition overall is excellent, with only one dimple on the back of the case. The bow is tight, the pumpkin crown shows no wear, and the glass crystal is in excellent condition with only one small blemish near the edge. Weight is approximately four ounces (gross weight of assembled watch), diameter of dial is approximately 1.76", diameter of case frame is approximately 2.25", and the watch case height, inclusive of the bow, is approximately 3".
