Pre-Hung Door is the way to go 90% of the time
Correctly installed, a Pre-Hung Door will have uniform gaps between the door and the frame all around with zero binding. This is called: Door Reveal. If you Look up: What is the Reveal on a door? It will state: The space between the edge of a door and the door frame.
It is rare to find a perfectly installed door, therefore; removing a door slab and replacing it with a new one (leaving the existing frame in place) is usually not a good idea. Especially if the original door has been shaved, but if you are inclined to only replace the door slab, I will be happy to do the job for you.
