Widmer Brothers brewery began like many inspired businesses: Over beer. In Germany in 1984 at one of Düsseldorf’s famed brew pubs - zum Verige - we met a brewmaster who is generous enough to share some of his secrets. And then he went a step further : He gave his blessing to use his special after yeast on the condition that we never rebuild it secrets and always credit him on every mirror so we do upon returning to Portland. We started brewing beer. first, in small batches for ourselves, then for friends, then for friends of friends, then for large weddings, small rocket, launches, medium sized kennel, clubs, and now you. If you’re ever in our neighborhood, stop by for a pint. in the meantime, we offer a prost: to your success, may be a satisfying as our beer.
