MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have previous experience working in the health care industry
• Be in good health, and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks
• Knowledge of the general business processes for a residential care facility for elders
• Must possess and maintain clearances from DOJ and FBI as verified by the Live-Scan process.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The Medication Room Tech will work under the direction of the Medication Room Supervisor to ensure the quality service is provided to all residents while functioning within the guidelines of facility policies & Title XXII.
Responsibilities and duties to include:
• Ensure that current documentation is placed into resident charts (community forms, licensing documentation, physician orders, incidents reports, etc.)
• Communicate resident status changes to Medication Room Supervisor.
• Ensure that the medication documentation for the individual resident that is being serviced is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician orders, change of dosages, written orders to confirm telephone orders, etc. Any inconsistencies shall be reported immediately to the Medication Room Supervisor.
• Notify the supervisor if any medication is depleted or at its last dosage and a new supply of medication is not available.
• Coordinate medication orders and deliveries with pharmacies with supervisor as necessary.
• Pour, pass and assist with administration of medications in accordance with state regulations.
• Endorse PRN control medication count to next shift.
• Read all communication notes regarding the community between shifts.
• Demonstrates the ability to attend work in a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to the assisted Living Community.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
