FAQs
Q: Do I still have chickens/are they available?
A: Yes, if the posting is up, they're still available.
Q: What is a bantam? How big do they get?
A: Bantam means miniature. These pullets will only grow to ~32 ounces for hens and ~36 ounces for roosters (about one-third the size of a normal barred rock chicken). They are larger than seramas and kikirikis but much smaller than normal barred rock chickens.
Q: Can you mix regular and bantam chickens?
A: Yes, but I recommend giving blended flocks more space.
Q: Are they definitely female/male/etc?
A: Yes, barred rocks (both standard and bantam) are an autosexing breed... males and females look different from the moment they hatch. I don't sell anything as a pullet unless I'm sure.
Q: Do bantams make good layers?
A: It depends on the breed. Barred Plymouth Rocks are good layers and so are the bantams, they just lay smaller eggs (half the size of a normal egg)
Q: Do you breed any other bantams? Are they available?
A: Yes, but not available at this time.
