Circa 1970's vintage table with an iconic OC history. If you traveled Carbon Canyon as a kid with your folks in the 70's you may have entered Sleepy Hollow along the way.
A familial, close-knit little community lined with period cottages, cabins, and food establishments that served locals and passersby.
One such establishment known as Joe Tatar's Restaurant and Tavern was nestled in Sleepy Hollow from the early 1970's to about the mid 1980's. It was family-owned and operated, dad, mom, the kids, even grandpa and grandma pitched in, crafting hearty meals, home made desserts and pies.
After bellies were full, Joe Tatar would take off the chef's hat, sit at the piano, and play knee-slapping sets with his house band, sometimes until the wee hours. His young kids would often fall asleep under the tables long after most customers departed.
If this table could talk, I'm sure it would have great stories! This iconic table has seen alot of years and requires a bit of restoration. It's solid wood construction features classic, old world details not found in modern furniture. It's quite heavy and solid as a rock.
