PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION AND REVIEW ALL PHOTOS CAREFULLY
Offered for sale is a vintage Gibson Blue Ridge Custom acoustic guitar, built in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA. This is a rare Gibson dreadnought model from the late-1960s to early-1970s era, offering the classic warm, woody Gibson tone and craftsmanship. Far less common than J-45 or J-50 models.
SPECIFICATIONS
Solid spruce top
Mahogany back and sides
Mahogany neck
Rosewood fingerboard and bridge
Original Gibson Deluxe tuners
Original pickguard
Original Gibson hard shell case (yellow interior)
SERIAL NUMBER / IDENTIFICATION
The serial number is stamped on the back of the headstock but is faint and difficult to photograph, which is common for Gibson instruments from this era due to finish thickness and age. Based on direct inspection under varied lighting, the visible portion appears to read “60033”, and “Made in USA” is present. The serial does not fully photograph clearly; buyers should rely on the photos provided as part of the description.
The serial style, construction details, label, hardware, and markings are consistent with late-1960s Gibson acoustic production.
CONDITION (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)
This guitar is in very good vintage condition, showing honest cosmetic wear consistent with age and use.
No cracks in the top, back, or sides
Finish checking, scuffs, small finish chips, and play wear present
Visible pick wear and small areas of finish loss on the spruce top
Light wear to the pickguard and fingerboard from normal use
Heel / Neck Area:
There is minor cosmetic finish and binding separation at the heel/body junction, typical of vintage Gibson acoustics due to natural wood movement and nitrocellulose lacquer shrinkage. The neck joint appears solid and stable, with no cracks or structural separation noted. This does not affect playability or structural integrity.
The neck appears straight and the guitar plays well. All parts appear original. No structural repairs are known.
Please note that vintage instruments may not play or feel like modern guitars and may benefit from a personal setup to suit the buyer’s preferences.
