Position Summary
Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our Angelina’s Italian Fine Dining culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Pastry cook. This role requires a commitment to food safety and quality, that meets our Angelina’s restaurant standards. Pastry Cook will play a crucial role in our kitchen, contributing to the overall success of our culinary offerings.
Duties
Prepare and bake a variety of pastry according to established recipes and standards
Collaborate with the kitchen team and Sous Chef to plan menus and create new creations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station, adhering to food safety regulations.
Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed for food production.
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or guests regarding pastry selections.
Skills
Proficient in pastries and cake decoration techniques and preparation.
Knowledge of food safety practices in a kitchen environment.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within the culinary team.
Experience in event catering is a plus, enhancing the ability to meet diverse customer needs.
Experience in Italian restaurant kitchen is a plus. Experience as a Pastry cook is a plus
Qualifications
Minimum 2–3 years of Pastry and kitchen experience in a full-service or fine dining environment
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
Valid Food Handler Card / Certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift)
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
Ability to work in hot, cold, and noisy kitchen environments
Work Environment
This role operates in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, sharp tools, and high activity levels. Strict adherence to safety and sanitation procedures is always required.
