We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional dining experience that reflects the spirit of our seaside community. We are looking for a charismatic, organized, and professional Host to be the first point of contact for our guests.
The Role
As the Host, you are the "face" of Hook & Anchor. Your primary mission is to provide a warm welcome, manage the flow of the dining room, and set the tone for a memorable meal. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy a fast-paced environment and have a talent for making people feel at home.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Welcome - Greet every guest with a genuine smile and immediate assistance as they enter.
Seating Management - Manage the waitlist and seating chart efficiently using our reservation system to ensure a steady flow for the kitchen and service staff.
Atmosphere Control - Monitor the dining area for cleanliness and lighting/music levels to maintain the Hook & Anchor vibe.
Phone Inquiry - Answer calls professionally to handle reservations, take-out orders, and general inquiries about our menu or hours.
Team Support - Assist servers and bussers during peak rushes by clearing menus or resetting tables when necessary.
Farewell - Ensure guests are thanked and invited back as they depart.
What We’re Looking For -
The "Coastal" Personality: Friendly, outgoing, and professional. You can stay calm and kind during a busy Saturday night.
Communication Skills: Ability to speak clearly and listen actively to guest needs.
Organization - Strong multitasking skills and the ability to think two steps ahead regarding table rotations.
Availability - Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays (standard for the hospitality industry).
Experience - Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person with a great attitude.
