Genesis Medical College is seeking an experienced Associate Program Director & Lead Faculty to join a growing Vocational Nursing (LVN) program during a planned leadership transition.
This role is designed for a seasoned vocational nursing educator who will grow into the Program Director position within approximately nine (9) months, following a structured transition and knowledge transfer period. During this time, the Associate Program Director will assume increasing leadership responsibility while maintaining an active teaching role.
As the program receives approval to offer additional cohorts the role will evolve toward greater administrative leadership with reduced teaching responsibility.
This position is ideal for an experienced nursing education leader who values intentional program building, integrity, and hands-on leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Administration
• Participate in a structured leadership transition with the current Program Director
• Assume increasing responsibility for program operations, curriculum implementation, and compliance
• Support academic integrity systems, assessment design, and exam security
• Assist with regulatory documentation, approvals, and reporting
• Coordinate scheduling, clinical education partnerships, and program logistics
• Prepare for full assumption of Program Director responsibilities within the transition period
Faculty Leadership
• Support recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and evaluation of faculty
• Help establish clear faculty expectations, teaching standards, and accountability
• Collaborate on faculty workload planning aligned with program needs and resources
• Promote instructional quality and consistency across courses and clinicals
Teaching Responsibilities
• Teach one to two courses and/or clinical assignments per term, aligned with expertise
• Model best practices in vocational nursing education and student engagement
• Maintain direct involvement in student instruction during the program’s early phase
Program Growth & Transition
• Collaborate with senior leadership to support cohort expansion and enrollment growth
• Gradually assume full authority for program leadership during the transition period
• Adjust balance of teaching and administrative responsibilities as faculty capacity increases
• Transition fully into the Program Director role upon successful completion of the onboarding and transition phase
Required Qualifications
• Active, unencumbered California RN license
• Master’s degree in Nursing or related field
• Meets BVNPT and applicable regulatory requirements for Vocational Nursing Program Director
• Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in vocational/practical nursing education
• Demonstrated experience with curriculum implementation, faculty oversight, and compliance
• Experience teaching in vocational/practical nursing programs
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience launching or scaling a nursing education program
• Strong understanding of academic integrity and assessment systems
• Collaborative, steady leadership style with strong organizational skills
• Comfort balancing leadership growth with ongoing teaching responsibilities
Compensation & Appointment
• Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience, aligned to the needs for an appointment combining leadership development and teaching responsibilities
• Compensation and role scope will be formally reviewed upon transition to the Program Director role, anticipated as early as nine (9) months, based on program needs, enrollment growth, and performance
