*Set and hold students to academic and behavioral standards
*Ensure that students are engaged and challenged
*Apply non-traditional academic measurements through a variety of methods such as portfolios to increase individual student's growth.
---Core Instructional Excellence---
*Develop course syllabus
*Create classes that are thought-provoking, initiate critical thinking, and provide solid support for students to succeed in completing their projects based on our well-developed project-based curriculum
*Demonstrate content knowledge
*Observe and assess every student's mastery of the content, behavior, and stages of development (Social-emotional, cognitive, physical, etc.).
*Prepare materials and classroom activities,
*Model responses and practice effective instructional delivery by adapting teaching methods to particular learning styles of each student
*Provide opportunities in a safe environment for students to observe, question, explore, and investigate new ideas that are presented to them as they learn
*Lead students through guided and independent practice/ learning and regularly check for understanding
*Meet the needs of a range of students, providing extra support, or variation of work
*Communicate each student’s progress weekly to the Director
*Establish and reinforce rules for behavior
*Confer with administrators, parents, guardians, and other teachers in order to resolve any behavior or academic difficulties
*Implement effective classroom management
*Create a positive and engaging learning environment where students are excited about and invested in their learning
*Set and reinforce clear expectations and routines that are aligned with the academy’s overall mission
*Discuss, teach, and reinforce character skills.

---Qualifications and Requirements---
*1-2 years previous teaching experience or equivalent education in related field
*High school-level command of subjects that you will be teaching
*Excellent written and oral communication
*Must provide impeccable personal references
*Must maintain an impeccable personal social media presence
*Must be willing to respond to urgent texts and email during off-hours especially during building-up year
Job Type: Part-time, 25-30 hrs/week
Hours: 3 days per week at one academy, 2 days at other academy; 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Salary: $13.00 to $15.00 /hour
