Description: This listing is for an Optometry Exam Translucent illuminated Desk Display Collectible. This rare illuminated vintage display comes in two separate pieces, a top section of two parts: made of what appears a thick clear acrylic with embossed figures (the front surface is smooth but the backside of the display has the hollow areas from the embossed figures). The acrylic top section measures 8" wide x 8" long x 1" deep. At the bottom of the top piece is an attached clear base that measures 9" long. There is a white-ish dried out glue residue noticed when looking at the section where the two pieces are joined (perhaps due to age) but both pieces hold together firmly. The separate bottom lamp base measures 8" long and has an AC cord. The acrylic display sits on the bottom black base, but please note that the acrylic display does hang over on the edges (see images).
The scene: The figures show an Optometrist directing his pointer to an exam podium with an eye chart, while the patient to the left is holding a pair of glasses in his hand.
Signed by the Artist: The top section in the lower right corner has been signed by the Artist etched in cursive "LeaH" or "Leatt" with a copyright of '85 (presumably 1985). There is also a number etched "2-95". Please see the images that show the etched signature and date. This is truly a rare gem that really illuminates and the characters can be seen even in regular room lighting!
