The machine was manufactured by the American Can Company, Adding Machine Division, in Chicago, Illinois.
The input method for this machine is unusual. You place your finger in a corrugated slot next to the desired number and use your thumb to lift a lever until it reaches your finger.
The machine shown is a vintage mechanical calculator, which was a precursor to modern electronic calculators and computers.
