This is a set of vintage Elizabeth II English, silver-gilt or brass, Henry Clifford Davis (attr.) enamel coffee bean spoons with the traditional black coffee bean stem finial ornamentation. That aspect being their namesake since the 1920's.
The anterior surface of each spoon bowl is embellished with impressive enamel panels depicting a variety of floral sprays, including what looks to be a rose, bluebell, poppy?, geranium, and peony. They are in excellent condition with no damage, repair, or wear.
They are fitted within a hinged leatherette presentation case with a satin and velvet lined interior, secured with two push-fit clasps. Like the spoons, the case is incredibly well preserved with practically no signs of wear over its ~55 years. The hinges and clasps work as new, and the outer/inner gold scalloped edging is in superb condition.
Each spoon is approximately 3.75" long with a bowl 1.1" long by .8" wide.
It is a very useable and/or collectible display set of rare and lovely HCD (attr.), enameled coffee/tea spoons.
For what it's worth, we brought this set (and many others) from Cheshire, England when we moved to America in the early 1970's. They have been in our family since new, and last with our mum who has passed on and left us with more than we have space for.
Please see attached online photos of other matching HCD pieces, and it's worth mentioning, Henry Clifford Davis was known for supplying high quality cased silver flatware, condiment sets, cases and vanities (ie: powder compacts) to jewelers throughout Great Britain, as well as to the admiralty... you can read all about him online :)
As regards the Pyke & Sons Jeweler inner case label, they were active from 1876-2014. I believe they are no longer in business, at least in Birkenhead, on the Wirral in Cheshire (we lived in nearby West Kirby). It had a good run and was a highly regarded establishment.
The beautiful enamel compositions on these spoons ensure they'll be a luxury, collectible accessory within any collection.
