One of a kind! Original legal document for a prominent University in London, England. Hand painted and hand written with Tax stamp and three seals by the three notable King of Arms, Isaac Heard Garter, George Harrison Clarenceux and Ralph Bigland Norroy.

Document dated 1807
Measures 17 ½” wide x 22” tall.
Frame is 23 1/2" wide x 27 3/4"tall.

Translation as follows:

"To all and Singular
To whom these Presents shall come Sir Isaac Heard Knight GARTER Principal King of Arms George Harrison Esquire CLAIRENCEUX King of Arms and Ralph Bigland Esquire NORROY King of Arms and Greeting: Whereas The Kings Most Excellent MAJESTY by Warrant of His Royal Signet and Sign Manual bearing date the thirtienth day of our Honorable Lord signified unto the Most Noble Charles Duke of Norfolk Lord Marshall and Hereditary Marshall of England that He had been graciously pleased to give and grant unto THE LONDON INSTITUTION, established for the diffusion of Science, Literature and the Arts consisting of a President, four Vice Presidents and twenty Managers and one Secretary, His Royal License and Authority that the said LONDON INSTITUTION may bear on their Common Seat the Arms following Viz’ Persefs, in chief beneath the sun in its splen-dour, a terrestrial Globe between an open book and an Air Pump, and in base, the Arms of the City of London and for Crest, On a Wreath a Lion passant guardant holding in the dexter paw, the Charter of the said Institution, together with the Motto STUDIO FALLENTE LABOREM, and hat further signified to his Grace that although the privilege of bearing Supporters be lamented to Pears of the Realm of the Knights of His Majesty’s Orders and the Proxies of Princes of the Blood Royal at Institutions except such Cases where in under particular Circumstances, He has been pleased to grant His Special License for the use thereof yet, Majesty has been further graciously pleased to grant unto the said London Institution for supporters to the Arms to be lamented said ___ On the Dexterside an Em blematical Female Figure representing the City of London, and on the Sinister the Figure of MINERVA the which as in the Painting annexed to the said Royal Warrant, provided the same be first duty exemplified according to the Laws of Arms, and recorded in the Heralds Office, otherwise His Majesty’s said License and Permission to warrant this of none effect: And forasmuch as the said Earl Marshall did by Warrant under his hand and seal bearing date the thirteenth of Day of April last in obedience to His Majesty’s Command authorize and direct us to exemplify to the said London Institution such Arms and Crest and that GARTER Principal King of Arms do exemplify such Supporters accordingly Know Ye therefore that We the said Garter, Clarenceux and NORROY in obedience to His Majesty’s Command in pursuance to the said Warrant and by virtue of the Letters Patent of our several Offices to each of us respectively granted do by these Presents exemplify to the said London Institution the Arms following that is to say Persefs Azure and Argent, in chief, beneath the Sun in Splendour, a Terrestrial Globe between an open Book on the Dexter and an Air Pump on the Sinister all proper; and in base the Cross and Dagger of the Arms of the City of London, and for the Crest on a Wreath of the colours A Lion passant quadrant Or, the Dexter Paw holding the Charter of the said Institution, Proper, as the same are in the Manor, here of more plainly depicted; and of the said GARTER do by these Presents exemplify to the said London Institution the Supporters following that is to say On the Dexter Side a Female Figure representing the CITY of LONDON habited Argent, zoned Azure and over her shoulders a Mantle Gules fringed Or; on her head a Mural Crown proper, her exterior hand resting on a shield erect theron the Arms of the City of London: On the Sinister Side A Female Figure representing MINERVA in a Robe Argent, Tunic Purpure Zone Gorget and Helmet Or, in her dexter hand a Spear erect proper; her sinister hand resting on the Egis Azure charged with Medusas Head Gold, as also depicted in the Margin here of the said Arms Crest and Supporters together with the Motto STUDIO FALLENTE LABOREM to be borne and used for ever hereafter by the said LONDON INSTITUTION on their Common Seat Shields, Banners or otherwise according to the Tenor of His Majesty’s said Sign Manual and the Laws of Arms In Witness whereof We the said GARTER, CLARENCEUX and NORROY King of Arms have to these Presents subscribed our Names and affixed the Seals of our several Offices this eleventh day of June in the Forty seventh Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third by the Grace of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland KING Defender of the Faith God and in the year of our LORD One thousand eight hundred and seven.
