Not sure of the exact date, but the inside is stamped: "Paramount Wood Products Brooklyn 16, NY USA", so that "16" is a postal zone, which was in use from 1943 until zip codes were introduced in 1963.
I believe this was originally a case for a vacuum tube testing device. At some point the components of the tube tester failed, but to keep the case, the insides were gutted. Never restored - original finish. The hinge for the top is designed to slide to the side and disconnect fully. Very nice tongue and groove joints at all corners. The handle appears to Bakelite, so maybe this was made in the 40's, not 50's!
Dimensions: 15" W x 11.2" D x 4.4" H
Please text instead of email - I don't check my email very often, but I usually check texts as soon as they come in.
I'll be glad to promptly reply with whatever you need to know.
Location: East Anaheim, 2.5 miles E of Disneyland and within a mile of where the 91 and 57 freeways meet (57 to the Lincoln Exit, then 0.5 mile south on Sunkist)
PLEASE NOTE: Please don't come over here and then offer me an unrealistic price - you'll just waste our time.
My price is the going rate for similar vintage wood cases on eB@y, but without the taxes and shipping costs. If you don't feel it is worth that, then respectfully, please move on.
Thanks for looking and thanks for recycling.
