Rug is handmade. Multicolored dyed silk yarns were hand knotted onto silk warp and weft foundations to create surface pile and designs entirely in silk. Knotting density is approximately 730 knots per square inch. Senneh knotting technique was used with fully depressed warp foundations.
There are attributions in the native language woven within the patterns of this rug. Name of the design studio, city of production and weaver’s name are woven at mid upper main border, respectively. This inscription reads ‘Rasouli Ghome Nabeen’. Additional attributions are at lower left field with mirror image of same at lower right field. The inscription further credits the design and reads ‘Work of Asghar Rasouli and Rasoul Abbasi’.
