This is a Guardian Whaler, a commercial whaler boat based off the 18 outrage hull. It has around 600lbs of extra fiberglass compared to the non commercial versions . It’s a tank.
here’s what has been done to it over the course of 3 years.
Rebuilt motor 2 stroke with now 400 hours on it, and plenty of life in it Runs AMAZING and is the same weight as a 150HP
New electronics
Trim tabs rebuild
Bottom paint
Fiberglass repair on hull
New electrical panel
New bilge pump
New stainless steel prop
New deep water transducer
New VHF whip
New Hauler
New LEDs for the back
Fish finder
VHF with ais reciever
And
Some other customizations
I took her routinely to Catalina over the summer, she holds
55-60 gallons of fuel
Because of the oversized motor (which isn’t too heavy due to the power to weight ratio)
She cruises at 3800 rpm and gets 34 knots
She tops out around 43knots + She can probably get up faster if you wanted to with additional prop adjustment (but this current prop has a good midrange)
Im listing it because I want another project, and I want to get something slower with more room to take my family to the island.
This boat is currently on a trailer, I do not recommend towing the trailer long distances.
overall, the mechanical and electrical of this boat is VERY GOOD and reliable.
Cosmetically, it looks like a work boat, commercial, BUT still gets compliments. This was a boat that I did not mind wearing land shoes on .
Foam is not water logged, it’s currently stored in Long Beach On trailer
If you know the guardians, you know that this is a rare find, and this one in particular is simply badass and fun.
