The Harvard Classics is a 51-volume anthology of classic literature from Western civilization. The set was compiled and edited by Charles W. Eliot in 1909.
The first 25 volumes were published in 1909, and the remaining 25 were published in 1910. Lectures on the series was published in 1914 to complete the 51 Volumes
The set is also known as "Eliot's Five-Foot Shelf".
Original owners were two generations of teachers/actors. . First generation lived in NYC second Orange County, Ca.
Two Volume are in Good condition only because of marginalia on a couple pages (notes for a play). See pictures (The lecture book has the most marginalia) the balance of the books are in Very Good Condition. No torn pages. Volume three is signed 1920. Found news paper clippings in a couple pages. One clipping discolored two pages but are still legible. See pictures

Another clipping found in book is an article on Albert Einstein from 1936.
