The Calborn Capra Forte (Italian for "Strong Goat") is an incredibly rare piece of Southern California mountain biking history, meaning you will need to rely entirely on local vintage forums and enthusiast groups to find one for sale. Built circa 1988, these were custom shop-branded bikes connected to Marcel Calborn’s footprint in Orange County. Because they lack official serial numbers and were built in highly limited quantities, they are treated as rare collector's items rather than standard production models
Its not all original, but is in really good condition, had to change rear derailleur old broke, and front crankset with gearing for climbing steep hills. Also changed handlebars to narrower model. Still has the SIS gear shifters and original brakes, new cables all around.
I have had this bike since 1992, was riding and pushing it up the one trail in Santiago Oaks way before the cutbacks.
