For Sale here is my like new Moto Tec GP 500 Pocket Bike. There are plenty of these with the typical 49cc 2 stroke gas engines and some 4 strokes but many sellers won't ship them into California. This one is an electric bike powered by a 36 volt 500 watt electric motor. The motor is powered by 3 (SLA) Sealed Lead Acid rechargeable batteries and I have the original 36 volt charger and maybe still have the original instruction manual somewhere in my office. The factory batteries are good and it's been fully charged again after a recent ride in the neighborhood.
The bike comes with 2 ignition keys. The controls are simple with only a LED battery indicator to show you how much power you have left. It's got front and rear mechanical disc brakes to help stop the little bike. There is no display so you don't know how fast you're going but I have mounted my speedometer app and I've got the electric pocket bike up to about 18 miles an hour and I weigh about 165 lbs and am an adult about 5 ft 6. I'm not sure about the total range between charges of the battery. The seat is modest in the comfort department as you can imagine but it is a fun little bike! Steering and handling are typical little pocket bikes like this. You have to be careful when turning to keep the foot pegs from grinding on the pavement. What's great about this little bike is that it is near silent as opposed to the noisy, smokey little 2 stroke gas motors.
It was a hassle to get this into California since it would not ship directly into the State of CA. I had to have shipped to an old friend in Arizona. Then I had to wait until another one of my friends was headed to California and she picked up the big heavy cardboard crate. She brought it as far as Murrieta Hot Springs some months later. I then drove out there and made the 132 mile round trip and finally had my new little toy in my possession.
I had big plans for this! I wanted to modify and hop it up to either 48 or 52 volt with a 1000 watt or even 1500 watt motor and a 20 Amp Hour battery which should fit inside the little frame. A new, bigger controller with a display and even lights could be squeezed into behind the fairing. I got so many other projects that this has only been ridden a few times since new, never laid down or wrecked and spends most of it's time tucked away in my garage.
I paid good money for this and all the troubles to get it here. My price is FIRM so tire kickers and low baller offers on this bike. I will put it back away and keep it if I don't find a buyer willing to pay my cash sale price and come and pick it up. I have some short video clips of this pocket bike being ridden and I will put something together soon and post the link here. The tires on this bike are in new condition and are 90/65-6.5 and not even broken in yet.
I just posted a fun little movie of riding this bike onto my Rumble video channel and it can be viewed here. https://rumble.com/v6wuwzs-putting-around-the-moto-tec-gp-500-electric-pocket-bike-36-volt-500-watt.html
