The Lawyer character jug modeled by Max Henk and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, between 1959-1996. A lawyer is someone who, through many years of challenging education and the successful passing of a professional and difficult exam is licensed to practice the law. Dressed for the English court in a horsehair wig, cravat and robes, he skillfully develops his argument as he persuades his audience to the justness of his case. In Britain, the dress of lawyers has not changed since the days of Queen Anne, illustrating the depth and tradition of this profession. A feather quill forms the handle of the jug. The Lawyer character jug was made in three sizes with this being the largest. A small (D6504) and miniature (D6524) size were also produced.
