1866 is engraved on handle with another word but hard to make out. Handle is decorated with floral and grape weave design. The bottom of inside basket also has 2 names or word engraved. I did not polish to keep patina. It was used as a wedding basket to hold flower petals and thrown before the bride as she walks down the isle. This looks to be hand forged. Measures 13 " wide x 10" x 5" tall and with handle up 11" high. This piece is a one of a kind with great detail and rare.
